Legends last night together

LEGEND FOREVER LIVE

(a situation after SPM where all the student stay one last night together and the character mostly from UKM girls)

“Farhana ! Quick get into the picture!” Fatimah barked from the camera. The younger girl who had been previously fooling around, ran to her spot and the 25 of them turned to the camera and posed. Fatimah had set the timer and just before it went off, An-Nur sneezed, ruining the picture.
“How many poses have we been doing since morning?” Fatimah complained.
“More than I can count.” Even Khafiza was getting impatient. The girls had an entire feast waiting for them. All they had to do was get through the darn photoshoot.
Hafiza walked to the camera. “Okay, one last time. Everyone let’s all focus. Remember this is for our memory. We can make it as dorky as possible.”
The word ‘dorky’ seemed to be the signal for them to unleash their inner idiots. Even though they had been going for a more serious pose previously, they were now shifting and moving. Hafiza walked behind them and squeezed herself in between Wilda and Ain. She placed her arm around them. “Smile, my sons!”
The comment made them all look at her. It was a slow reaction but they all laughed again and Fatimah wrinkled his nose. “I thought you weren’t into playing house.”
“Hey. I just don’t like being married to you.”
Fatimah rolled her eyes. “At least give the kids a mom. Have a heart Hafiza. At least let them have this on our second anniversary.”
It was fun playful banter and all of them got ready for a more serious pose once more. Once the pictures were done, they were given one each. It was refreshing to have the whole day off after SPM and to be able to eat together, peacefully, talking with one another. At night, they all gathered again in the room and Nadhilah spoke.
“We should share our toughest moments in school and our happiest. I’ll go first. Becoming a senior was tough. I started off just wanting to spread my passion on studying, well, for life. And the senior life wasn’t something that really resonated with me. I wanted to quit but I figured I had this chance so that was hardest. Happiest moment was when all the 73 of us sang our choir song together passionately. I guess it was because we trained in a short time and it was just a sweet moment.”
An-Nur batted his lashes, still joking around before the atmosphere became too emotional. “You mean the happiest moment wasn’t when you found out you were in the same room with me last year?”
Farhana aimed a kick at her legs causing her to groan in pain. “ Stop spoiling the mood will you! Okay, moving on.”
Lerra looked around. “Hardest moment for me wasn’t my senior life. It was really when I wanted to study. I wanted so badly to excel  with you guys and you always seemed so busy. I just felt so left out. You guys came to class and you were so tired and I wanted to ask for help in my study cause sometime I couldn’t catch up on our subject. But I couldn’t, so that was a really dark time for me. The happiest was when we organized our own Teacher’s Day event. I still remember the exhilaration of looking at the dark crowd that suddenly blossomed into the a long queue of candles brought by us and Hizaam was singing Sir Linggi’s songs. That was beautiful.”
An-Nur cleared her throat. “Uh, I guess for me it was adjusting to this school. I was still a mama-girl and the school was intimidating. You all had been together and I was the new addition. I thought Auni was mad at me mad that I’m increasing the number of member in her room but all she did was smiled and tried to take care of me.’” The girl coughed again and looked at the floor. “And I really appreciate that. The happiest moment was when we gone for a camp at Kampung Sukan because I was finally get along with other LL member and it was a beautiful moment.”
Auni was quiet for a moment. “Aw man. I guess hardest part was as a senior again and again. And losing my sleep because that was difficult. Happiest moment would be when we played with our teacher on Teacher’s Day.”
“Hey I praised you and you don’t even mention me!” An-Nur shoved Auni.
Auni laughed. “ Why would I? I don’t want to be responsible if your noses had been expanding and burst. It would be disgusting.”
Olivia thought quietly. “I wouldn’t say there were any outstanding difficulties but I guess one of the hardest parts was not being able to sleep. Studying is tiring and even at the last minute we slept so late to study. But I’ve learned to take it from a positive view. I’m most happy when I found out I’ll be free from the school. But still I’m happy here in school it’s because I had such wonderful people I could learn from.”
Fatimah leaned her head against An-Nur’s knee. “I had to leave my parents and so that was hard. But I had a dream and I wanted to see it come to fruition so I’m happy. I had to work hard and like Olivia said, I had a lot of people to look up to.” There was a catch to her voice and An-Nur  patted her  head. By now all the girls were misting over. “And I was most happy when we did our first hostel party together. That was fun when we were doing the plan together. It really helped me grow up a lot.” Hanani stated .
Nadia suddenly stands up. “We’ve come a long way. But our dream was to conquer the SainsRi’s SPM records. And it’s happening. Let’s keep going and encouraging one another until that happens and even then, beyond?”
“Legends on three! One,two, three!!” Farhana shouted
“LEGEND THE BEST!THE BEST! THE BEST!” all of them shouted together.

till death do we apart

TILL DEATH DO WE APART

“Oppa, I’m thirsty,” you clung onto Bobby. He raised an eyebrow. You normally wasn’t prone to giving anyone aegyo, nor were you particularly keen on calling him “oppa.”
“Is there something you want from me?” His eyes narrowed and he glared at you suspiciously.
You laughed and tapped his nose. “So suspicious. It’s our six months, Oppa. Least you can do is surprise me with something.”
The look on his face was priceless. His entire countenance froze and his mouth dropped open. Almost as if remembering, he shut his eyes and let out a groan. His head rolled back and he grimaced. “Shoot, I knew I was forgetting something. Ugh, I was just thinking about this last week. Damn it. I had everything all planned and ugh, I’m sorry, baby.” Bobby stuck out his lower lip and blinked up at you. “Give me until this evening to plan something?”
You shook your head. “It’s okay. Just being with you is celebration enough.”
            Bobby winced. “You’re so corny.”
You slipped your hand into his. “It’s why you love me.”
The two of you walked to your favorite café. It was pretty empty and Bobby ordered a strawberry banana smoothie for you and then pondered whether to play it safe or try the new flavor. “Raspberry tomato? Sounds dangerous to me.”
You linked your arm through his. “Sounds interesting. Try it!”
“You want me to die?” he joked. “What if I keel over right now because the combination is too toxic for my stomach to take?”
“Your stomach is already a mine of toxic substances, dear. You can’t really do much to add to it. With all the eating you do, I’m surprised you’re not one hundred percent immune.”
Bobby poked your ribs. “Alright. You’re just confident because I was kind enough to order you a normal flavor. Miss, can I have a raspberry tomato smoothie along with the strawberry banana I just ordered?”
When the order came, the two of you slid into a fairly private booth. “This way nobody can watch me throw up everything I just drank,” he winked at you. He plunged the straw in and took a deep breath. “Here goes nothing.” Then he spoke in a mock deep voice. “Here marks the day when my beloved girlfriend of six months, my crush of a million years, my best friend since forever, tried to kill me with her evilness. Choice of weapon, a raspberry tomato smoothie. Victim, more than willing.” You kicked his shin.
“Shut up with the dramatics and drink.”
“Oh so bossy. What a dominatrix,” he teased.
You turned bright red and gestured at his drink. He took a deep breath and took a long sip. He kept his expression blank until he swallowed. Then his eyes bulged and his hands came up to his neck. He pretended to strangle himself and popped out his tongue. “Bluerkk!!" He flopped his head to the side and was still for a moment.
You nudged his leg. “Stop it, it can’t be that bad. I’ll try some.” Almost on cue, Bobby came alive and grabbed his drink.
“My smoothie! You already have your own. Don’t be a glutton now. I like it. It’s really exotic. I think it’s great for the stomach. It’s a combination of sour and a little basic. I don’t know, try some?”
You shook your head. “After that dramatic death, I don’t wish to suffer the same.”
He grabbed your hand and kissed it. “Never. I will never kill my beloved. You may not be as merciful, but at least I have a heart. Drink a little bit though. Your taste buds may not take it. You’re quite sensitive. It’s a bit spicy.”
You took a small sip and grimaced. “Tastes like tomato juice and lemon juice.”
He scoffed and took the drink back. “You’re not a connoisseur  like me, okay? Let me do the tasting.” He proceeded to take yet another long sip and looked at you with a cute expression.
You took out your camera. “Hold on! You look cute.” You snapped the picture and giggled. “Oppa looks good.”
Bobby grinned at you. “You’re so adorable.” He leaned over and kissed you on the cheek. “Get dressed tonight okay? We’re going someplace special. I have it all planned.”
You got up to leave and handed him the camera. “Do me a favor though, please? Get this developed for me? I want to have it for our scrapbook when we work on it tonight.”
He took your camera. “Anything for you.”
You walked out of the café and he swung your arms between the two of you. You leaned into him and he asked you, “So, it’s been six months? What do you want to happen in our next six months?”
“I just want things to be like this. Remember that time when we were fighting and you thought I was going to break up with you? I don’t want that. I know happy forever is not realistic, but let’s try to never think of breaking up. Fighting maybe, but never breaking up okay?”
“Till death do we part? I like that.” He kissed the top of your head and you bumped his hip.
“You’re silly. That’s for another six years.”
“We can’t start that now.” He smiled cheesily and you tiptoed to kiss him. “I’ll see you in a bit okay? I’ll be waiting for my prince okay?” He laughed and waved, sending you off with a wide smile.

You dropped the photo from your fingers and it slid off the table, landing on the ground. Tears fell from your eyes. Your prince never came. You waited for three hours. Bobby had called you, telling you that he got the picture and was currently walking over to pick you up. “I love you, see you in a few.”
He never came. You waited and waited. It wasn’t until your mother came home, crying that you knew something was wrong. “You didn’t hear?” she asked. Her eyes were wide with a panic and a grief you couldn’t understand. What had happened? Why wasn’t Bobby picking up?
“Bobby.” Your mom said. Your whole world came to a stop. Ice washed through you and you asked her for more. “The poor boy was crossing that intersection and he didn’t even see it coming. He had stopped by a flower shop. There was a picture that he had said was for you. He didn’t even know what was coming.”
The story came out in pieces and puzzles. You didn’t understand. What coming? Crossing an intersection? Was it a car crash? What flowers?
“He was hit by a drunk driver. They took him in and it was my shift. I took care of him. He told me that he loved you and that the picture was for you. He said you had wanted to remember the day, but now he’d rather you remembered him for him instead.”
All the death jokes the two of you had made earlier didn’t seem so funny now. Your heart froze. Six months together, and six months more. Now you’d have to live all those years out alone, without Bobby by your side.
You bent to pick up the picture. Bobby’s face and his eyes. His lips and everything about him was so etched in your memory. How could he expect you to forget him ever? Tears blurred the black of his snapback together and soon you couldn’t see. You walked out of your room and walked into the same café, and ordered a raspberry tomato and a strawberry banana.
Placing the raspberry tomato one in front of you, you whispered, “Here Bobby, maybe I can join you today.”

its all lies

ITS ALL LIES

 Image result for yongguk 1004

Her hands snaked behind his neck and she let out a tiny moan as he nibbled on her bottom lip. His hand traveled down her back and she bit his earlobe. There was a shrill ringing and she pulled away. Her eyes narrowed when she saw him reach into his pocket for his phone. She huffed. Yongguk merely gave her a sheepish smile and turned it off.
“Sorry about that. My alarm.” The lie was effortless, but nevertheless, she appreciated it. She ran a hand through his hair.
“Hmm, alarm. So we can continue?” He grinned and once more bent his head to touch her lips.
When he went home, he found her sitting on the bed, swinging her legs. She brightened when she saw him wak in. “Yongguk! Where have you been? I called but it was cut off.”
            “Work,” he said shortly.
She bit her lip. “Oh. Well, you’re home now. That’s what matters. yongguk , were you bitten by a mosquito? Your neck is red. Let me see!” her voice was filled with worry. She tiptoed, placing her hands on his shoulders and looking at his neck. He jerked away, nearly making her fall over.
“Nothing. Just scratched myself a little too hard. There was a pimple there and this happened.”
She giggled and patted his cheek. “Oppa’s so silly.” She smiled at him and took his hand gently in hers. “Are you hungry?”
Daehyun shrugged and slipped his hand out from hers. “I ate already. The members and I went out to eat.”
She paused and nodded slowly. “Did Himchan go with you?”
It was a strange question to ask but he nodded anyway. “Yeah, we all went.” She was quiet and just nodded again.
“Okay. So I guess I’ll eat by myself then.” She stopped before walking out. “Oppa, sleep well!” She blew him a kiss and he caughit it and nodded at her.
She was driving him crazy. Every single day, there was a text from her telling him to stay happy, telling him that she loved him, telling him to eat well. If he wanted to be babied, he would have just stuck with his mother. Sometimes, Yongguk would reply, but othertimes, he would just pretend that he hadn’t seen it.
It was a relief for him to turn right instead of left and walk down three blocks in the wrong direction so he could see the other one instead. She treated him like a man. She didn’t baby him, didn’t need him. And he liked her for it.
He didn’t know that they were being watched. On the rare day, he took the other girl out to the park. She had wanted him to show her how much she liked him. He had agreed because who would go to a shady park in the nearby neighborhood? But as he partd from the kiss, he saw her. He saw his girlfriend standing by the entrance, with Himchan next to her. The reaction that came on was too strong to ignore. It was guilt.
He went home to see her immediately. But she was already packing her bag. She was moving with a fury he has never seen. “Babe,” he called out.
She turned to him, her bag completely done. She worked fast. “It’s over, Bang Yongguk. It’s over. I don’t want to see you. I really hate you. So much. I can’t do this anymore. I’m done.” Her voice didn’t catch. There were no tears. She stepped past him and that was it.
He tried calling her. But she never picked up. This time it was her whose phone went to voicemail and her phone that was wracked with texts and messages. But she never bothered to respond once.
“Pick up please. I’m not a good person. I know I’m a jerk and I can’t be a real man. I didn’t tell you I loved you. I was a fool, a coward. Please. I know I need you now. Please, come back to me.”
He told himself he could get over it, would get over it. But it was all lies. He found their old photo albums, a diary of their years together and he cried. When Himchan found him sobbing, he only asked, “Why did you keep lying to her? She knew when you lied about going to eat with us. She never wanted to believe it. I had to tell her though. I didn’t want to see her get hurt.”
Yongguk  hung his head. “If she can just grab my hand again like nothing happened, I would heal all the wounds in her hurt. I would never let her go.”
His best friend gave him a wan smile. “It could be a little too late for that. Save it for our next album. Those are pretty lyrics.”
            “Why?” Yongguk asked him.
Himchan shrugged. “You took her from me only to hurt her. I couldn’t watch it happen. The way you acted around her; it was all lies anyway. She doesn’t deserve someone like you.”
